While writing songs for Brown, as well as artists such as Ariana Grande, Brandy, and Fantasia Barrino, Streeter released singles of her own, including the pensive “Before I Do” and the brooding “Fallen.” Streeter’s 2017 debut album, Girl Disrupted, built on her pop knowledge and curious streak with songs that called back to soul’s past while incorporating modern touches like the stop-start synthetic beats of “Present Situation.” In the years since, she’s released a slew of singles and collaborations that have showcased her forward-thinking approach to making music in the 21st century. and snagging a feature, as Sevyn, on his 2012 follow-up, Fortune.
